IMDB Twilight Trivia

Check out IMDB's Twilight Trivia here.

  • Kristen Stewart has naturally green eyes. She wears brown contacts for filming because Bella is supposed to have brown eyes.
  • Kellan Lutz intended on keeping his natural curly hair for the role of Emmett Cullen. However, his previous role in _"Generation Kill" (2008) (mini)_ required a buzz cut and his hair didn't grow fast enough for the filming of Twilight.
  • Henry Cavill was Stephenie Meyer's first choice to play Edward, but by the time the film came to be, he was 25 years old, and no longer looked the part of a 17-year old. He was then offered the part of Carlisle Cullen but turned it down due to his commitment with 'The Tudors'
  • For the role of Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson flew from England to director Catherine Hardwicke's house to audition. There, he and Kristen Stewart, who was already cast as Bella Swan, rehearsed the "Love Scene"/"Meadow Scene" on Hardwicke's own bed.
All of the actors playing the Cullens wear topaz-colored contacts.
  • Taylor Lautner had to wear a wig for his role as Jacob Black.
Over 5,000 actors auditioned for the role of Edward.
  • According to a July interview with Network.NationalPost.com and director Catherine Hardwicke, Kristen Stewart was recommended for the role of Bella Swan by Emile Hirsch her co-star from Into the Wild (2007) and whom Hardwicke directed in Lords of Dogtown (2005).
  • The script was finished in 6 weeks.
  • Robert Pattinson stated in an interview that this is his first American role and he had no formal training to perfect his American accent.
  • The Cullen family had to learn how to bat left handed in the baseball scene.

EW interview with Rob

EntertainmentWeekly, issue Sept 8-14 has a new interview with Elizabeth Reeser (Esme).
Thanks Twilighters.org

"The last time we saw Elizabeth Reaser she was having a nervous breakdown on Grey’s Anatomy, which had been preceeded by a disfiguring accident, a bout of amnesia, facial reconstruction and, finally, a love affair gone awry. This season, she’s left behind the Debbie Downer role to star in her own series, The Ex List, as a woman who’s told by a psychic that if she doesn’t marry in a year, she never will. Reaser gives us the lowdown.

Your character, Bella, is in a race to the altar. Do you have a matrimonial timetable?
My older sister is married and that took a lot of pressure off me. She had the greatest wedding of all time, the three most beautiful children of all time and her husband is the greatest brother in law you could ask for. So I’m covered; I can go be a crazy actress diva.
Your role on Grey’s Anatomy was pretty heavy. Is it fun to finally lighten up?
[nods] Because I’m always being tragic, anything where they’re making a buffoon out of me, I love. The more buffoonery, the better!
Your character in The Ex List is told she’s already met her intended, so she starts looking up her old lovers. Have you ever done that?
I have, yeah, and they rejected me. So I have plenty to draw on. I remember my first breakup. I was 14 and devastated. And it doesn’t get any better. The only difference is that when you’re 14, you think you’re never going to get over it.
Does Bella have a type?
I think they’re all over the place. That’s what’s cool about Bella. She has no type. In Mythological Ex, the Israeli series this is based on, there’s even a woman, and it’s a totally hot story line. I went to drama school, so there was a lot of that. Girls experiment all the time.
What actors are on your wish list for playing some of the exes?
I don’t think he’s available, but I’d love to work with Justin Chambers again. [Laughs] And I hear Patrick Dempsey is really hard up for work these days, so if he wants to call me, we can talk about it!
Your character spends a lot of time half-dressed. Did you have to work out a lot to get that amazing body?
I’ve always been active and athletic, but, yeah, I had to step up the yoga, Pilates, and swimming. When I found out that I was going to be in bikinis, I pumped it up. It definitely keeps you mindful of what you put in your mouth!"

This good-girl, bad-boy romance is based on the first book in Stephenie Meyer's series about an awkward teen (Kristen Stewart) who falls for a dazzling, eternally young stud (Robert Pattinson).OK, so he's a vampire, but a nice vampire, from a family of bloodsuckers who eschew gnawing on human necks."He doesn't want to be a monster, he doesn't want to kill people," "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke says. Twilight Boys in Cosmo Girl

This month's issue of Cosmo Girl is something to sink your teeth into. Robert Pattinson, Kellan Lutz and Taylor Lautner are all featured. Here is an excert found on Lion_Lamb's LJ.

Put away the garlic and holy water. These wicked-hot guys may play vampires, but we promise they won't bite.

It's 5 p.m and Taylor Lautner is the first to arrive at the Venice, California studio for our CosmoGirl shoot. A few minutes later, his Twilight costar Kellan Lutz walks in. The guys high-five and joke about how Robert Pattinson - their other costar - is always late. By 6:30, I'm getting a little impatient because we're still waiting for our lead vampire. Finally, Robert tiptoes in, sleepy-eyed and full of apologies, "Sorry, I overslept," he explains in his sexy British accent.

He's so charming that my aggravation immediately vanishes. I totally see why Kristen Stewart's character, Bella, would want to spend an eternity with this guy, vampire or not. As the three actors change into jeans and white shirts, every girl on set finds an excuse to sneak into the dressing room, hoping to get a peek. Then - as if on cue, just around twilight - Rob, Kellan and Taylor emerge. Check out what we chatted about during the shoot.

Q: So how would you describe your three characters?

Rob: [My character] Edward is the conflicted and reluctant vampire. He's a poet, and very deep and profound. He's just extraordinarily troubled.

Kellan: Emmett's the tough guy, the protector, but he's a big old teddy bear to his little brother. He's a goofball, but when he snaps, he's menacing and there's no stopping him.

Taylor: Well, in the first film, Jacob is a normal high school guy - outgoing, friendly, and loyal. I'm a lot like him in Twilight, but I'm excited to play him in the sequels as his character evolves.

Q: Are you at all similar to your characters?

Kellan: Rob is definitely Edward. He's so complicated, so poetic... I mean, you cannot help but like this guy! I'd say I'm definitely the protector type. I have six brothers and one sister, and I got beaten up a lot because I was in the middle. But then I learned to defend myself.

Rob: Yeah, Kellan protects me all the time. It's like having a globe around me. Really, he's like a globe of protection!

Q: Twilight isn't just a "vampire movie", it's a love story. Do you guys like romantic films?

Taylor: I really liked Enchanted. In fact, I've seen it five or six times.

Kellan: I like The Notebook, Tristan & Isolde, and Romeo + Juliet. [I enjoy] period pieces that aren't just about winning the girl but are also about the struggle of class, wealth and privilege.

Q: What about horror movies?

Taylor: My friends just introduced me to how great they can be. I really liked The Hitcher, and Gothika gave me nightmares.

Rob: I don't like that "hiding behind doors" element when suddenly it's like "Boo!" I like the more eerie and disturbing horror flicks. One of my favorites is The Exorcist.

Kellan: I love scary movies. I think the pure gore movies are pretty funny. It doesn't bother me to see someone get their head chopped off.

Q: Twilight's tagline is: "When you can live forever, what do you live for?" Would you want to live for eternity?

Rob: Uh, yes, I think so, especially if I could turn it on and off. I kind of like the idea that I could see what death is like and then come back again. That sounds good to me. I want to have my cake and eat it too.

Kellan: I can't wait for the afterlife, to spend eternity wherever it might be. But it would also be cool to live for hundreds of years and get to see how the world turns out. If I could stay 23 years old for 500 years, I'd probably take that deal.

And here's what each of their captions say:

Rob: I never felt like I was making a 'vampire movie', even when we were ripping each other's heads off.

Taylor: I hadn't heard of the Twilight books before the movie. Now I see girls everywhere reading them. The series is huge!

Kellan: I loved vampires
growing up. I dressed up as one for Halloween three years in a row.

Twilight Tuesday!

'Twilight' Tuesday: Catherine Hardwicke Gets Swept Up By Bella And Edward's 'Obsessive Love' Plus, the 'Thirteen' director gives details on the big kiss and which character she had to cut.

"MTV: There must be a thousand vampire movies and TV shows that have been made over the years. In your mind, what sets "Twilight" apart?
Hardwicke: Well, when I started reading the book "Twilight," I just got swept away into the feeling of this whole, almost obsessive love. A really cool teenager, just falling madly in love, so in love with this guy that she would actually turn into a vampire to be with him. And I thought: "That's kinda great." Stephenie really caught the spirit of being a teenager and of your first love. And I thought, "How visual!" These vampires live in the forest. We've never seen anything like that. We've never seen vampires playing baseball — superhuman-vampire-speed baseball. There were so many challenges, you know?"

Support Stephenie Meyer!

With regards to the events of the Twilight fandom recently, we, the administrators of several websites, have heard your pleas requesting something be done to support Stephenie. So, to answer the question of "what can we do" that we have heard repeatedly over the last twenty-four hours, we propose the following list of suggestions. Feel free to participate in one or all of the events.

1. Post this for your MySpaces, Blogs, LiveJournals, website sigs etc.

2. Write a letter to Stephenie at

Stephenie Meyer
c/o Author MailLittle, Brown and Company
237 Park Avenue
New York, NY 10017

3. Participate in a "We support Stephenie Meyer" video. All you have to do is send a picture of yourself showing support to twilightthanks@gmail.com and put "VIDEO" in the subject line. Be creative with your show of support, but make sure it is a still photograph and not an actual video. We will take the photos and make them into a video that will later be posted on You Tube.

4. For those of you graphics people who want to do something, we have another idea. We are going to make a virtual quilt. Send a 200 X 200 support graphic to twilightthanks@gmail.com and we will work it into a virtual support quilt. Make sure you put "QUILT" in the subject line.

5. On Saturday Sept. 13, in honor of Bella's birthday, wear a twilight themed t-shirt to show your love of the series. If you work or have other obligations that won't allow you to wear a Twilight shirt, wear all black, white, and red to show your support.

All entries for the video or quilt must be submitted by Wednesday Sept. 3, 2008. You are certainly welcome to do one in each category, but that is by no means a requirement. Also please submit each item in a separate email as it will make our sorting go faster. If there is some sort of detail we left out that you need help with, email twilightthanks@gmail.com with "HELP" in the subject line and we'll see what we can do.

In regards to Midnight Sun

Earlier this week Stephenie had posted this on her site.
As some of you may have heard, my partial draft of Midnight Sun was illegally posted on the Internet and has since been virally distributed without my knowledge or permission or the knowledge or permission of my publisher.
I have a good idea of how the leak happened as there were very few copies of Midnight Sun that left my possession and each was unique. Due to little changes I made to the manuscript at different times, I can tell when each left my possession and to whom it was given. The manuscript that was illegally distributed on the Internet was given to trusted individuals for a good purpose. I have no comment beyond that as I believe that there was no malicious intent with the initial distribution.
I did not want my readers to experience Midnight Sun before it was completed, edited and published. I think it is important for everybody to understand that what happened was a huge violation of my rights as an author, not to mention me as a human being. As the author of the Twilight Saga, I control the copyright and it is up to the owner of the copyright to decide when the books should be made public; this is the same for musicians and filmmakers. Just because someone buys a book or movie or song, or gets a download off the Internet, doesn't mean that they own the right to reproduce and distribute it. Unfortunately, with the Internet, it is easy for people to obtain and share items that do not legally belong to them. No matter how this is done, it is still dishonest. This has been a very upsetting experience for me, but I hope it will at least leave my fans with a better understanding of copyright and the importance of artistic control.
So where does this leave Midnight Sun? My first feeling was that there was no way to continue. Writing isn't like math; in math, two plus two always equals four no matter what your mood is like. With writing, the way you feel changes everything. If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely.
I'd rather my fans not read this version of Midnight Sun. It was only an incomplete draft; the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes. But how do I comment on this violation without driving more people to look for the illegal posting? It has taken me a while to decide how and if I could respond. But to end the confusion, I've decided to make the draft available here (at the end of this message on the Midnight Sun page). This way, my readers don't have to feel they have to make a sacrifice to stay honest. I hope this fragment gives you further insight into Edward's head and adds a new dimension to the Twilight story. That's what inspired me to write it in the first place.
I do want to take a moment and thank the wonderful fans who have been so supportive of me over the past three years. I cannot begin to tell you how much each of you means to me. I only hope this note will stop all the confusion and online speculation so that the Twilight universe can once again become the happy escape it used to be. After this incredibly busy year, I am now focusing on spending more time with my family and working on some other writing projects.--Stephenie
See the post on here site HERE.

I'd like to rant on this for a moment. While the site was down, our staff has become completely aware of the Midnight Sun leak, whether we read the leak or not we all love and support Stephenie Meyer and are truly saddened by the hardship this has given her. Whether this postponed the release of Midnight Sun none are for sure but there is certainly some hope, I wouldn't take Stephenie as the type to go back on her word.

Entertainment Weekly question

Entertainment Weekly: Why is Catherine Hardwicke filiming again?
Their article includes news about the shooting and the reshooting taking place of characters such as Jacob Black.

Hardwicke also shot a few new scenes: more of Jacob, more on the Cullens' backstory, and more footage in the meadow. Says the director, "It's all just icing on the cake."

"If you're steering clear of revelations about the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer's much-ballyhooed vampire/werewolf saga for teen readers, you'd better put this page down and get back to Breaking Dawn itself."

My good friend Ashley she had them, she had all three of them and she read them within like three days, she’s a crazy fast reader and so I had to borrow them and she gave me them. I just read them in my hotel room and I love them. They’re really good books and they’re easy reads. And no wonder everyone is so into them because they just paint such a vivid picture and are such a fantasy ride that it takes the audience with it. So it’s really cool."

July 25 2008// Stephenie Meyers' Announcement & Interview!

Entertainment Weekly have posted part 1 of their four-part interview with Stephenie Meyer. Although it is part of their Comic-Con piece, this is a bit special (and may end up tying in with the Breaking Dawn small peek we'll get on Monday from their site). So, without further ado, please go see the video interview with Stephenie here!

Announcement from Stephenie Meyer:

"We only have a few days until the release of Breaking Dawn. To reward all of you for being so patient, I have confirmed exclusively with Entertainment Weekly one thing that happens in Breaking Dawn — and it will be posted at EW.com on Monday. As you all know, I'm against spoilers, but I know there is a desire for ANYTHING about the book. But please proceed to EW.com with caution. This is truly the only thing I am comfortable with being out before August 2nd, so this in no way gives anybody free reign to post spoilers. Let's keep the rest of the book secret — we can do it!" --Steph

IGN.com has posted a more detailed description of the Twilight presentation at this years Comic-Con, and one line in particular really stands out. When asked about their favorite scenes in the film, stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart replyed thus: "Pattinson said his favorite scene was one where he first meets her and he has to intimidate her but she isn't cowed by him. When asked about her favorite Edward and Bella scene, Stewart recalled a moment of improvisation where they were frolicking in the leaves and she stuck her fingers in Edward's mouth and asked, "Do you want a taste?"
